About the Transformation Space
The Transformation Space is a new way of working that puts Clackmannanshire’s people at the heart of decisions.
It will:
- Give local people a stronger voice in how support is provided
- Bring together funding from public, private and third sectors
- Focus on prevention and early support
- Reduce failure demand by working together differently
This bold approach is the first of its kind in Scotland. We aim to make lasting change by addressing the root causes of the challenges our communities face.
Partners
The Transformation Space is built on partnership. It brings together voices from across Clackmannanshire, all working side by side to shape decisions and create lasting change.
Community
At the heart of the Transformation Space leading priorities, decision-making and shaping change.
Community Voice
A citizens’ panel of local people, shaped by lived experience, influencing where money goes and what matters most.[SY1]
Clackmannanshire Council
Providing leadership and resources to make sure our strategic aims are met.
Independent funders and private investors
Bringing fresh funding, insight and expertise to the Transformation Space, adding to our knowledge, influence and research.
Oversight Board
Oversees the Transformation Space, members have knowledge and experience and are drawn from the citizens’ panel as well as elected members and other areas.
A Fund Manager
Overseeing grants, from applications through to monitoring and evaluation.
How the Transformation Space will work
The process is simple and transparent:
- Advice and experience from the community is shared with our citizens’ panel, Community Voice
- Recommendations on where funds should be directed are reviewed and ratified by the Oversight Board.
- Funding is distributed by the Fund Manager to organisations based on direction from the citizens’ panel.
- Reporting from funded projects is shared openly, so everyone can see the impact

Transformation Space is part of a growing movement across the UK and beyond to rethink how public money is used.

- Help create a new, scalable model for managing public funds
- Support work that delivers better outcomes for individuals, families and communities
- Back an approach that puts prevention first, saving money and reducing long-term demand on services
