Our Fund

Investing in Clackmannanshire’s future

The Transformation Space fund is here to support the change that matters most to local people. It’s designed to put communities in control and build a stronger, fairer Clackmannanshire.

Our goals are simple:

Put local voices first to ensure Clackmannanshire’s people shape decisions and lead change.

Focus on prevention by shifting services towards early support that tackles issues before they grow

Help everyone flourish by making sure opportunities are open to all, no matter their background

Support wellbeing and skills by creating the conditions for people to live healthier, happier lives

“By working together with different partners and putting community voices at the centre of our decisions, we can create services that will be more effective and lasting.”

Councillor Ellen Forson, Leader of Clackmannanshire Council

FAQs

Our Fund will support projects and initiatives which address issues affecting those who live and work in Clackmannanshire. In particular, the fund will seek to support work that provides early intervention for these issues using collaboration and innovation.

The Transformation Space is a continuation of the innovative Family Wellbeing Partnership, a collaboration between Clackmannanshire Council, The Hunter Foundation and The Scottish Government.

The Transformation Space is a deliberate response to the challenges and requirements set out in the Christie Commission Report on The Future Delivery of Public Services, which described:

  • Empowering individuals and communities receiving public services by involving them in the design and delivery of the services they use
  • Public service providers being required to work much more closely in partnership, to integrate service provision and thus improve the outcomes achieved.
  • Prioritising spend on public services with a focus on early intervention
  • Reducing duplication and sharing services wherever possible, across public, third and private sectors

The Transformation Space gives us the opportunity to put in place the conditions where these changes are possible.

Any collective or organisation can put forward an investment proposal. These proposals will need to set out how they will deliver the required outcomes using the funding available. We are keen to see collaboration, including cross sector collaboration, where it delivers more effectively for the people of Clackmannanshire.
The funding will come from a mix of local and national government, public bodies and independent funders, including a variety of grants, trusts and foundations, as well as individual philanthropists. We also anticipate building partnerships with the private sector.

Decisions on priorities will be informed by the Clackmannanshire Local Outcomes Improvement Plan and backed up by expert analysis. Decisions on where to invest, and which specific investments to make will be made by our citizens’ panel, Community Voice, and ratified by an Oversight Board.

Recipients of our investment will be required to report on the difference the funds have made.  In addition, our citizens’ panel, Community Voice, will be able to give us a first-hand account of the impact they have seen.

We have also engaged a Learning Partner who will work alongside us for an initial period. They will feed learning back into the system in real time and help us to respond quickly to any changes that need to be made.
